Spanish Generic Wine Prices Rise
February 14, 2011 - 10:09
Generic Wine prices for both Reds and Whites in Spain continue to rise due to consistently strong sales over the past few months. Similar sales for varietal wines have resulted in extremely low stocks for Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Moscatel, (which is almost completely unavailable). In contrast, Tempranillo, Syrah and Generic Rose are still available in significant volumes. It is important to note that there is a large volume of organic wine going through the approval process, some of this with the NOP (National Organic Program) classification. Wineries and winemakers interested in this process should forward their inquiries and reservations to the Ciatti Co. no later than June, 2011.
